How to use the library apps
Public Library (Libby)
- The "Libby" app is completely free and gives you access to all the digital content from your library.
- The first time you open the app, you'll be prompted to find a local library and add a library card.
- If you don't have a library card, you will need to visit your local branch and ask to become a member. You will be required to have some proof of your name and your present address.
- Once you have a library card, add your library card number and "sign in".
- You are then free to browse your library's collection of e-books and audiobooks or search for a specific title, author or series.
- When you borrow a book, you can start reading or listening to it right away.
- Books will be automatically returned on their due date.
LibriVox
- A free library of public domain audiobooks, meaning their copyrights have expired, therefore they tend to be older books.
- Mostly English language but the site notes they have 44 different languages.
- You can search by author, title, genre or language.
- Touch on a title and select a chapter and enjoy.
- At the end of the chapter it does not automatically go back to the chapter menu, you touch on the arrow icon in the lower right corner.
- From any page in LibriVox, the arrow in the lower right corner will take you back one page.
